This is the kind of music that you need to sink into. Spacious, rhapsodic and packed with gorgeous textures, it overflows any category you try to fit round it. Garland is well known as a virtuoso saxophonist, and his playing here is phenomenal, but it’s his talent for creating something unique out of diverse musical idioms that makes him such an adventurous and impressive composer.
