My new double album ‘Songs to the North Sky’ is released today on iTunes to download. To get this music out has been a long time coming and to be able to work with such incredible musicians is very exciting. If you would like a CD then you need to wait until 2nd June and can be preorder from www.editionrecords.com
Join me in launching my new album ‘Songs to the North Sky’ at Kings Place (Hall 1) London on 30th May 2014.
Grammy winning British saxophonist and composer Tim Garland, has been a luminary of the UK music scene for the last 20 years. For the last fourteen he has worked regularly with Chick Corea, touring extensively around the globe.
This month he releases Songs to the North Sky, a major new album marking a decade of his Lighthouse project and one of his most significant, original and defining records to date which heralds a new chapter in his career. This music is a beautiful marriage of all that encompasses Tim Garland’s unique playing and writing where power and lyricism are present in equal measure.
At times cinematic and exuberant, what impresses most is the sheer scale, virtuosity and diversity of this mans talent. Featuring Jason Rebello, a long time collaborator and friend of Garland, Lighthouse’s regular percussionist Asaf Sirkis, plus for this special night, the eight cello virtuosi that make up Cellophony. An event not to be missed!
Thanks for stopping by my new website. It’s been long over due but I hope you enjoy taking a look around. Any feedback please leave me a comment on my Facebook page.
To celebrate the launch of the site today we are releasing the first part of a five part interview with myself and Chick Corea. Click ‘read more’ below to listen.
